Library Services and the Dominguez Center for Data Science co-hosted a May Plan workshop for faculty and staff centered on learning about and teaching data visualization design. In this three-hour interactive workshop, we covered strategies for teaching data visualization, choosing the right visualization for the data, and design choices for creating visualizations.  Participants engaged in data visualization activities both to apply the skills from the workshop and to try out activities that could be implemented in a wide array of courses. This workshop focused on concepts and not tools, so no previous experience or software was required.
